Freedom

Blogger buddy arthbard has a humorous series of short animated cartoons he created titled "Don Juan Frankenstein" in which Frankenstein goes on dinner dates w/a variety of girls. None of the dates work out due to fatal flaws, either with the girls or with himself.

It reminds me of what my own social life has been like since I've been divorced (
a little over a year now). Being single has been an interesting experience for me, it's best approached humorously, I think.

So far I've not seen anything worth giving up my freedom for.

Kind of funny cartoon Ms.Rita. :)

I reckon freedom is in the eye's of the beholder.I rarely ever met a person who can actually think freely or even does. I feel that humanity is in a way psychologically enslaved, this applies to both gender's as well.

You also say something like you havent "found?" anything that makes you want to "give up" freedom? Why does a relationship make one feel they dont have freedom or lost freedom is the issue and question I would have? And what is "freedom" to each individual? I see people run around that are slap happy... saying that they are free... but frankly... I see alot of them folk's who actually do not understand as I have posted what true "freedom" is,comparing it in some cases to a pidgeon with a brick tied to it's leg for instance. You cant be truely free until you break the chain's that enslave the mind, so to speak.

Enough said ... take care girl! :)

You will know when the time is right. Perhaps you need time to heal, time to take stock of your life, time to reflect... :)

prash That must be it! ;)

Ranch Chimp As I see it, any relationships requires a certain amount of commitment & causes a certain amount of complication. I'm not being disparaging to any person I've been interested in or dated, I just don't want to deal with all that.

I have a friend who leds the most complicated, committed, & frankly fucked up life, based around a relationship.

I'd much rather direct my energies & commitments elsewhere.

What's funny, The character I play in the theatre production I'm in, is a matchmaker. Being that it is Melodrama the character is over exaggerated but one of the lines is...
"Love, romance, matrimony, It is the goal for each & every one of us! For every person there is a soulmate."
It's meant to be funny of course, but I think people like my friend w/the complicated relationship, believes it.

Of course, I'm looking at all of this from the other side of the fence.

You cant be truely free until you break the chain's that enslave the mind, so to speak. This is what defines the great thinkers of any age & why I love philosophy.:)

wildlife gardener Thanks for the visit. Yes I'll know if it ever does happen & so will everyone else in town I imagine. <---(that comment was meant to be humouous. You'd have to live here to understand.)

phil I agree! One might as well. I love all kinds of humor, esp. the gallows type.
