Me Me! It's all about me & Melodrama...

My picture taken for the theatre programme this year. Actually this picture of me was taken with my camera because I am one of the photographers this year. My character in this seasons Melodrama is named "Belle Amore." She is the matron of Bill's Place boarding house & an avid Matchmaker who see's romance everywhere.

Melodrama
(From Wikipedia):
The theatrical genre of melodrama uses theme-music to manipulate the spectator's emotional response and to denote character types. The term combines "melody" (from the Greek "melōidía", meaning "song") and "drama"(Classical Greek: δράμα, dráma; meaning "action"). While the use of music is nearly ubiquitous in modern film, in a melodrama these musical cues will be used within a fairly rigid structure, and the characterizations will accordingly be somewhat more one-dimensional: Heroes will be unambiguously good and their entrance will be heralded by heroic-sounding trumpets and martial music; villains are unambiguously bad, and their entrance is greeted with dark-sounding, ominous chords.

Ours is based on (from Wikipedia again): The Victorian stage melodrama featured a limited number of stock characters: the hero, the villain, the heroine, an old man, an old woman, a comic man and a comic woman engaged in a sensational plot featuring themes of love and murder. Often the good but not very clever hero is duped by a scheming villain, who has eyes on the damsel in distress until fate intervenes at the end to ensure the triumph of good over evil.

I love the hat...it suits you so good. I love your character's name "Belle Amour" (in French, it would've been written as Bel Amour). I am sure you very bel amour :-)

Hi J_G I checked out your blog I see you haven't changed any, Hope life is treating you kindly.

prash The hat goes well with the character. The rest of my costume isn't made yet. Melodrama is over the top, (exaggerated) so the gaudier the hat the better.

Thanks ranch chimp It's the only time anyone see's me with that much makeup on. It's quite garish in real life. The black & white photo doesn't show it that much.

Garish....heh? Well ... I can imagine the color and what you mean.Actually I think it look's cool, and very stylish. I realize for you it's a theatrical thing. However when it come's to pretty women,I have alway's had a good eye, so trust me...you look fine! I remember as well...a few year's back... I was around the underground hardcore and punk scene for several year's, and alot of "goth" people as well, so there was quite a bit of make up and dressing up with both gender's. It was so creative and artistic...some in a bizzare way I reckon. But the pic of you look's absolutely great!

Thank You Ms.Rita!
