Immunity from religious manipulation...

religious manipulation Pictures, Images and Photos
One of the benifits of being an atheist is immunity from religious manipulation.

Latest E-mail from my brother to my Mom:
You need to get on your knees and pray. The Lord is sufficient for me you know that, Be strong.

My advice. Stop beating the bible, it is not the answer.

The answer is faith in Jesus in the Lord Mom. Please whatever it is that you have let it go and be free for once.

Otherwise mother, you will continue to live on and suffer for all of the things that you think that you should suffer for. And if it was up to God you will burn in Hell, but Jesus is our savior Mom.. Get it in you brain, you are saved, just believe and be baptized and believe. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

Quoting Betty and Stanley:

> Vern, you are going to have to ask your friends for money. I do not > have any, I believe the Lord is telling you you need to ask them > according to the consulate, time is running out.. they are being > very kind. I thought you had the Visa thing all straightened out > You have friends, use them!! I'll try to do what I can, but, I > don't know what to do.. I just have to trust the Lord, He is my > only hope. Are you getting any feed back from your friends that you > e mailed?? Love you Mom

Hmmm, he's starting to sound a bit desperate, isn't he? Perhaps he's facing jail now? I believe when his visa ran out he went over to Laos for a while. Maybe he moved back into Thailand illegally or something?

Isn't it amazing how people use their religion to act stupidly or use it to conveniently blame God for their foolish behavior? Take my brother for instance. He gives away everything he owns & moves to Thailand with $8,000 because God has a plan for him to save the heathens. He hooks up with a woman & starts living with her within the first two mths. it's Gods idea of course. When it all goes sour & he runs out of money he uses religion to solicit money from his friends & family & when he doesn't get what he wants he uses religion again, to beat them over the head.

I find that so dispicable.
I have a feeling I will have to help get his sorry religious ass home, anyway. *sigh*

And what God wants is always what they want.....

"God wants you to send me money." "I don't have any money. God wants you to ask somebody else." An atheist would at least be honest enough to say "Please send me money" and "I don't have any money, ask somebody else."

I have a feeling I will have to help get his sorry religious ass home, anyway.

Why? Why on Earth? You're the last person who should consider this your problem.

Thank you for sharing that personal email from bro to mom in the post,it say's alot to me.First of all...and this is only me and my opinion, not meant to sway or influence any mind's. I frankly would never talk to my mom like that,I loved my mom very much, I know I didnt show it maybe by leaving home at such a young age,but I am just one of them fella's that grew up fast I reckon. Bro must realize that he is where he is,because he simply"chose" to be. But talking to your mom like that is not very considerate to me. I dont care if my mom or anyone believe's the bible or anything they choose to believe,I have my own belief's,and I keep them to myself, because they will not do anyone else any damn good, since they are in my mind.

As far as helping bro get home.It is NOT your job as Mr.Infidel pointed out for sure. The only thing I can say here, the most important thing...is doing what is in your heart/mind. Ask yourself dear ...What make's YOU feel good?, and will you regret what you do,if you do help him,or dont help him? And if you do help, dont regret it,it can only harm you in the longrun(psychologically),if you DONT help...the same. Even if you did help him...and he got back to the state's...you can alway's tell him when he get's back, that you helped on that...but wont do it again... so he should think carefully about his next move. The important thing is like I tell my own daughter...what make's YOU feel good and comfortable? Think of yourself dear, that's all. He is in his situation by "choice" as well.

Take Care ........... :)

Infidel & Ranch Chimp
Why would I help him get his sorry ass home? Good question.

Mostly to help my Mom. She is in poor health & he is really causing her suffering over this & when she suffers I suffer. My motives are purely selfish. (& I don't have to be dishonest about it)

As far as how he is talking to her. I also consider it very inconsiderate, arrogant, & dishonest. He has it in his head, he's Gods man. I guess he thinks he can say anything he wants. That is the arrogance of religion.

prash When religion is used to manipulate people I think it's a big deal. I don't care if it's Christianity or any other religion.
Life is about....life! It's best enjoyed in the moment. Sometimes that takes money. Even Ice cream costs money.

Fortunately I don't have any relatives that crazy - some of them are just obedient sheeple and don't get into trouble so I can ignore them easily.

As, according to christianity, god/jesus, holy ghost etc are all one, then if god wants you to burn in hell, and Jesus wants to save you, then i think the trinity is perhaps not taking it's meds.....

As for money, well, he has the answer right there, trust in god.
The same god who collapses cathedrals onto his believers in his petulant earthquakes.
